Record Store Day has come, and now we are all here to worship at the altar of tangible music (which kinda doesn't make sense). Anyhow, these very important stations--record stores--that we grew up going to and hanging around are going down like Hollywood Videos, so today is a day to go and support these places. A lot of cool bands are releasing limited records and playing at these shops, so it's an easy day to drag yourself out and participate.

This also concludes our 2-part episode that celebrates this "holiday." With open arms Sam and I accepted this little mission to explore the bins of record stores and find some cool stuff that we not only wanted to have in our collections, but that we could play for our listeners. It's a win-win-win-win-etc. situation.

As we mention at the end of this episode, Sam and I are retooling the format and will debuting this May 10, 2010. Consider it the premiere of our 2nd series. Just like Uncle Accordion says, "That's OK, 'cause it's still Two Dudes," but it'll be slightly different.

For now, go buy records:

1) Brave Belt "Waiting There For Me"
2) Dottie West "Lesson in Leavin'"
3) Silver Jews "I'm Getting Back Into You"
4) XTC "A Dictionary of Modern Marriage"
5) Gilberto Gil "Aquele Abraço"
6) Os Mutantes (pictured above) "Jogo De Calcada"
7) Gilberto Gil w/ Os Mutantes "Marginalia II"
