Before we get started, let us not go on without recognizing the music world's loss of Jay Reatard this week. Jay was an amazing musician with talent to spare. It's hard to express how disappointing this is, as many of you fans know, but we have a handful of great records to spin and memories of him blessing this Earth with music of a quality we're barely worthy of. R.I.P. Jay Reatard. (A full-on Reatard tribute will be paid on next week's episode.)

It goes without saying that there is an international crisis in the form of the fallout of the Haiti earthquake that is a much larger scale loss to many more. We kinda wanted to recognize that, as well, so we don't seem like music-obsessed pricks with no sense of reality/responsibility (though we just may be). But seriously, if you can, find some spare change to donate to these struggling people on the brink of their existence. You know how to find these outlets, and if you're looking for something in return, Propaghandi is supposedly trading you some vintage mp3 b-sides for your donation, or Arcade Fire will be happy if you do too. The real point is to give what you can, even if it's just your ears and attention to the stories coming out of Haiti so that you can combat the Pat Robertsons and Rush Limbaughs of the world and get the story straight.

Are we on? OK! To lighten your emotional load this week, we give you an episode filled with music from our favorite movies. Some are pure soundtrack score, some are perfectly placed pop tracks, and all are cinematically sound. Dig that. So while you're contemplating your global opinions, listen here and we'll get on with this together.
